Our History

Vernon Leslie, a Pagosa Springs native, has a wide scope of expertise that enables him to design and construct some of the most marvelous homes in the nation. Everything from his schooling in Graphic Design in Phoenix, AZ to his tenure as a member of the concrete crew for Centric Jones provides a solidified backing for building beautiful custom homes. Much of his ability can be directly attributed to Clyde Ketchum, an excellent craftsman and phenomenal teacher, who provided Vernon with work at Interior Trim Company. Building custom cabinets, interior doors, eccentric staircases, wood floors, furniture, and anything else pertaining to tailored interior woodwork. Over a period of seven years, his apprenticeship with Mr. Ketchum was able to further develop his gift of design; which in turn, launched his own business, Vernon Leslie Interior Trim. Over a period of ten years, working for every major builder in the Pagosa area, business began to flourish. As time went by, his scope of work began to shift and the size of projects began to increase. What began as custom woodwork lead into subcontracting and after a period of four years, and numerous high quality, high-end homes, Custom Homes by Vernon Leslie was birthed.

Since 2008, when Custom Homes by Vernon Leslie officially took flight, my work has provided much satisfaction. Not just for myself, but for our clients as well. Working alongside my clients to help make their dreams of a beautiful custom home a reality is truly fullfilling.
